Zurich-based start-up Visorway has closed its pre-seed funding round, according to a press release published on 8 October 2026 by Startupticker.ch. The young company describes itself as an "AI-native" services company for sourcing and procurement. The amount raised has not been disclosed. The announced valuation, however, is known: CHF 3 million, according to the press release.
An "autopilot" for IT tenders
Founded in 2026, Visorway says it already operates as an AI autopilot for IT sourcing. Its clients are corporate procurement teams and sourcing advisory firms. The principle: the company encodes the method of experienced practitioners for tasks such as scoping, drafting and evaluating a tender. The work is then produced by AI and validated by experienced practitioners.
Its first services cover IT tender documentation, for both private and public procurement. According to the press release, they draw on the methodology of advisers with decades of combined experience in sourcing and public procurement in Switzerland.
AI should structure the work, not replace the thinking, sums up Jan Appenzeller, CEO and co-founder of Visorway, quoted in the press release. The expertise is not in the model, he adds; it is in the method.
Trials under way in Switzerland
On the ground, the company reports ongoing "proof of value" engagements with Swiss companies, a federal research institution and sourcing advisory firms that use Visorway for their own mandates. The names of these partners have not been disclosed, nor has the number of contracts or any revenue figure.
The bet: services rather than software
Visorway fits into a thesis put forward by the Sequoia Capital fund. In its essay "Services: The New Software", published in March 2026 and cited in the press release, Sequoia estimates that companies spend around six dollars on services for every dollar spent on software. In it, the fund predicts that companies will often replace their traditional providers with "AI-native" providers that deliver the end result directly. A significant share of organisations' spending goes to services such as consulting, integration or external teams, the press release points out.
What we know about the round, and what we don't
The round was financed entirely by business angels. Several of these individual investors have operational experience in the sectors Visorway serves, the press release states. Their names are not given, and the total amount raised is not disclosed. Only the CHF 3 million valuation is mentioned.
The funds are to be used to broaden the services offered on Visorway and to expand the network of domain experts behind them. With these funds, the company also says it wants to extend its model beyond sourcing to other professional fields, combining practitioner methods, AI production and expert validation. No timeline has been given.
